Rate of Wages

Our journeymen are at the core of our operations, performing complex tasks that require significant skill and precision. The journeyman program at Roofers Local #188 not only acknowledges their expertise but also provides continuous opportunities for advancement in leadership roles such as Assistant Foremen, Job Foremen, and General Foremen.

  • Journeymen: $30.00 per hour
  • Assistant Foremen: $31.00 per hour (+$1.00 over scale)
  • Job Foremen: $31.50 per hour (+$1.50 over scale)
  • General Foremen: $31.75 to $32.00 per hour (+$1.75 to +$2.00 over scale)

Our journeymen enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that significantly enhances their quality of life and job satisfaction:

  • Health and Welfare: $11.88 per hour
  • Pension Contributions (NRIPP $3.30 & NRISPP $3.33): $6.63 per hour, ensuring a secure retirement

Company-Establishment
Employer Contributions

We invest in our journeymen through various programs aimed at professional development and well-being:

  • Research & Education: $0.03 per hour
  • Construction Advancement Program: $0.18 per hour
  • Apprenticeship Program: $0.10 per hour
  • Fit for Duty: $0.02 per hour, promoting safety and readiness

Company-Establishment
Employer Deductions

We invest in our journeymen through various programs aimed at professional development and well-being:

  • Fit for Duty Fund: $0.03 per hour
  • Research & Education: $0.03 per hour
  • Apprenticeship Fund: $0.15 per hour
  • Building Trades Contributions: Includes Upper OV Bldg Trades ($0.05 per hour) and WV Bldg Trades ($0.15 per hour)
  • Roofers Special Fund: $0.15 per hour
  • Working Dues: 2.8% of the total package, supporting union activities and services

Room & Board Accommodations for Traveling Journeymen

Recognizing the demands of the job that often require travel, Roofers Local #188 provides room and board benefits:

  • From 2022: $74.00 per day after 90 miles
  • From July 2022: Increases to $76.00 per day
  • From July 2023: Further increases to $78.00 per day These provisions ensure that our journeymen are well taken care of during their travels, allowing them to focus on their craftsmanship.
